Privacy Policy
BoatMe — a platform of WDX Global Pty Ltd (ABN 45 688 506 934) · Version 1.1 · Effective 23 October 2026
1. Who we are
BoatMe is owned and operated by WDX Global Pty Ltd (ABN 45 688 506 934) ("BoatMe", "we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through the BoatMe website and portal (boatme.com.au), what we do with it, and the choices you have.
2. What we collect
2.1 Information you give us as a Boat Owner
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number and address.
- Vessel details: boat name, make, model, year, registration number, HIN, length, home marina and trailer status.
- Boat records: maintenance and service history, insurance policy details, safety equipment and compliance dates, documents, photos and invoices you upload.
- Trip logs: log-on/log-off details, persons on board, departure and arrival locations, ETAs and emergency contact details you choose to record.
2.2 Information from third parties
- Contractors and suppliers: business name, ABN, contact details, services, service areas and public liability insurance expiry dates that you or the contractor provide.
- Clubs, sea rescue organisations and marine service groups: publicly listed contact details, call signs, VHF channels, addresses and coverage areas they submit to our directory.
- Insurance providers: publicly available company and product information displayed for general reference.
2.3 Technical information
- Account authentication data and, if you use the mobile app, device push notification tokens.
- Basic server logs (IP address, timestamps) used to keep the platform secure and diagnose faults.
3. What we do with your information
We use your information only to operate the BoatMe platform for you:
- to maintain your account, boat profiles, documents, contractors and service history;
- to send you renewal and compliance reminders you have asked for;
- to send trip log details to the sea rescue station you select when you log on for a voyage (see section 5);
- to display the shared contractor directory and third-party directories; and
- to keep the platform secure and working.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with advertisers, data brokers or any third party for their own marketing. Advertising on BoatMe is contextual (topic-based) only — it is never targeted using your personal data (see our
Advertising Policy).
4. We do not use your data for anything else
We will not use your boat details, trip logs, insurance details, documents or any other information you store on BoatMe for any purpose other than providing the service to you, unless you expressly ask us to. We do not build advertising profiles of users, and we do not permit third parties to scrape or reuse directory information for their own marketing.
5. When information is disclosed
We disclose your information only in these limited circumstances:
- Trip logs to sea rescue: when you log on for a voyage and select a sea rescue station, we send the log-on details you recorded to that station (by email where the station accepts email). This happens only on your instruction.
- With your consent: where you ask us to share something (for example, sharing a document with a contractor).
- Service providers: hosting, database and delivery providers that process data strictly on our behalf, under contract, to run the platform. They may not use it for their own purposes (see our Data Storage & Security Policy).
- Emergencies and safety: where we believe disclosure is necessary to prevent a serious risk to life or safety.
- Law: where required by law or lawful authority.
6. Your choices and rights
- You can view, correct or update your details and boat records at any time in your portal Account and boat pages.
- You can delete your account at any time from Account → Danger zone. This permanently removes your boats, documents, photos, insurance records, contractors and service history.
- You can choose which sea rescue station receives your trip logs, or record trips without sending them to any station.
- You can contact us at hello@boatme.com.au to access the personal information we hold about you or to raise a privacy concern.
7. Connected accounting software (MYOB & Xero)
Contractor businesses may connect their own MYOB or Xero account to BoatMe so that quotes, invoices and purchase orders they send can be copied into their accounting file as drafts.
- You connect. A connection is only made when the contractor initiates it, via the sign-in screen of their own MYOB or Xero account, and only their own company file can be selected.
- We push, they don't pull. BoatMe only creates draft documents the contractor explicitly sends from BoatMe. We do not read, change or delete any existing MYOB or Xero records.
- Tokens are encrypted. The connection tokens are stored encrypted, are scoped to that business only, and are deleted immediately when the business disconnects.
- Your file stays yours. Each business can only ever see its own records. One business can never access another business's data or its accounting file.
8. Cookies and analytics
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in to your portal. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time; the current version is always at boatme.com.au/policies/privacy.html with its effective date. Questions: hello@boatme.com.au or WDX Global Pty Ltd, Unit 6, 460 Roberts Road, Subiaco WA 6008, Australia.
