These Terms & Conditions of Use govern your access to and use of the BoatMe website, owner portal and mobile app (the "platform"), operated by WDX Global Pty Ltd (ABN 45 688 506 934). By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these terms.
If you use the platform on behalf of a business (for example as a contractor, club, sea rescue organisation or insurance provider), you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation to these terms.
BoatMe is an organisational tool and directory. It helps boat owners store records, track renewals, log trips and find contact details of marine businesses and services.
We do not promote, endorse, recommend or guarantee any contractor, supplier, club, sea rescue organisation or insurance provider listed on the platform. A listing (including a featured listing or advertisement) is not a representation of quality, qualification, competence, availability or insurance status.
Contractors listing themselves on the platform must hold and maintain their own business or public liability insurance and any licences, certifications or qualifications required by law. Where a contractor supplies a public liability insurance expiry date, we display a badge reflecting that self-supplied information only. We do not verify insurance policies and accept no responsibility if a contractor's insurance is invalid, lapsed or inadequate.
It is the sole responsibility of each Boat Owner to check references, qualifications, licences and insurance, and to satisfy themselves of a contractor's suitability before engaging them. Any contract for work, and any payment, is directly between the owner and the contractor. We do not vet contractors, guarantee their work, hold payments in escrow, or resolve disputes.
Directory details (including call signs, VHF channels, addresses and coverage areas for clubs and sea rescue organisations) are supplied by those organisations. We display them as provided and accept no responsibility for their accuracy, currency or availability. Third parties can request corrections or removal at any time via hello@boatme.com.au.
Information about insurance providers or products on the platform is general information only. We do not sell insurance, compare policies, or provide financial product advice, and we hold no Australian Financial Services Licence. You should obtain advice from a licensed insurance professional.
Contractor businesses may connect their own MYOB or Xero account to create draft documents from quotes, invoices and purchase orders they send in BoatMe. The connection and all activity in the connected accounting file remain the contractor's own: BoatMe only creates drafts at the contractor's direction, does not modify or delete existing accounting records, and is not responsible for the contractor's bookkeeping, tax obligations or the accuracy of their accounting file. Disconnecting BoatMe does not alter documents already created in the contractor's accounting file, which remain their records.

BoatMe is an organisational and directory platform. We are not a party to, and are not involved in, any contract between a Boat Owner and a Contractor, Club, Sea Rescue organisation or any other user. We do not supervise, manage, direct or control any work performed, any vessel operation, or any interaction between users.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BoatMe and WDX Global Pty Ltd take no responsibility, and accept no liability, for the acts, omissions, negligence, misconduct or incompetence of any Boat Owner, Contractor or other user of the platform — including any sinking, fire, collision, grounding, capsize, injury, death, loss of vessel, loss of property, financial loss or any other loss or damage howsoever caused, whether arising from work performed by a Contractor, the seaworthiness or maintenance of a vessel, or the operation of a vessel by its owner or any other person.
By using the platform, each user waives, to the maximum extent permitted by law, any right to bring any claim, action or proceeding against BoatMe or WDX Global Pty Ltd for any loss or damage (including indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data or loss of use) arising out of or in connection with:
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy that cannot be excluded, restricted or modified under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
Each user indemnifies and holds harmless BoatMe and WDX Global Pty Ltd, its officers, employees and agents from and against any claim, action, loss, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable legal costs) arising out of or in connection with that user's use of the platform, that user's breach of these terms, or any work, act or omission of that user or their employees, agents or subcontractors.
Contractors are independent businesses. They must maintain their own public liability insurance (or equivalent business insurance) and any licences, qualifications or certifications required by law. Any insurance claim, warranty claim or dispute in relation to work performed must be directed to the Contractor who performed the work — not to BoatMe or WDX Global Pty Ltd. We are not an insurer, employer, agent or principal of any Contractor.
You keep ownership of the content you upload (boat details, documents, photos, trip logs). You grant us a limited licence to store and display it back to you, and to send trip log details to the sea rescue station you select, for the purpose of operating the service. The BoatMe name, logo and platform are owned by WDX Global Pty Ltd. "BoatMe" is the subject of a pending trade mark application by WDX Global Pty Ltd.
We aim to keep the platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may add, change or discontinue features. We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is always at boatme.com.au/policies/terms.html with its effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
