Getting started
What is BoatMe?
BoatMe is an Australian platform that keeps a boat's whole life in one place: servicing, compliance, insurance, trips and documents. It connects boat owners with trusted marine contractors, suppliers, their club or marina, their insurer and sea rescue.
How much does it cost?
Boat owners pay $9.99 a month at our founding member rate (first 500 members, locked in for life), then $15.99/mo for the next 1,500, then $19.99/mo full price. Contractors pay $99 a month, clubs and marinas $149 a month and marine suppliers $99 a month. Full details are on our
pricing page. Sea rescue organisations are always free — we donate not-for-profit subscriptions back to the rescue community.
Do I need to be in Australia?
BoatMe is built for Australian boat owners and organisations first — state registration rules, Australian sea rescue groups and local trade directories. We'll look at other regions later.
Can I try it before the demo is ready?
Yes — the live portal is open in early access.

Boat owners
How many boats can I add?
The Owner plan (founding members: $9.99 a month, locked in for life) includes everything for your boat: log, documents, reminders, AI intake, live trip sharing and Boat Reports. For households with several boats, email hello@boatme.com.au and we'll look after you.
What is Log On with Sea Rescue?
Before you head out, you can log your trip with your local sea rescue station: departure, destination, ETA, persons on board and fuel level. The station sees your trip live on their dashboard. Log off when you're back, and if you're running late, tap Update ETA so they know you're safe.
Can the AI really read my insurance certificate?
Upload a policy certificate or photo and the AI extracts the insurer, policy number, cover amount, premium, excess and dates. High-confidence extractions fill in automatically; anything uncertain goes to your review queue first. You always have the final say.
Who can see my boat's information?
You. Consent to Share puts you in control: per boat, you choose what your club or marina, sea rescue, contractors and your insurer can each see — registration, insurance, safety gear, documents, photos and more. Everything defaults to private. Trip details shared with a rescue station you logged on with are inherent to that service.
What reminders do I get?
Automatic expiry reminders for registration, insurance and safety equipment at 30, 14, 7 and 1 day — plus overdue trip alerts and club notices.
Can I share my boat with family or a skipper?
Yes. Invite co-owners with their share of the boat — they get full access to the log, documents and compliance. You can also register a hired skipper: they log on and off with sea rescue, run the safety gear check and send you problem reports from the water.
Contractors & trades
How do I get listed as a contractor?
Email
hello@boatme.com.au with your business name, trade, coverage area and ABN. We verify every listing before it goes live.
How do job requests work?
Boat owners request work by trade and location. You review the request, send a quote through the platform, schedule the job and record the completed work. Every finished job lands on the boat's service history — a permanent, owner-visible record that builds your reputation.
Can my staff use the platform?
Yes — Contractor Pro includes staff accounts and invites so your team can work under your business with their own login.
I'm a skipper — can I get work through BoatMe?
Yes. The Hire-a-Skipper directory lets boat owners find and contact you through BoatMe, for $9.99 a month.

Clubs, marinas & the Club Network
What does our club get?
A member directory, member verification with consent, Club Resources (induction guides, by-laws, safety briefings) delivered to every linked member's boat page, compliance items recorded per boat, and your club branding in the portal. You can also publish bookable club services, verify marine contractors and accept member join requests from your dashboard.
What's the difference between a home marina and our club on BoatMe?
The home marina is the boat's physical base. The linked club or marina record connects membership number, Club Resources and compliance inspections.
Can marinas see boats out on the water?
Marinas can switch on live vessel tracking for their dashboard — an organisation-level setting. Owners share their live position by consent.
Can our club offer services and bookings?
Yes — publish services like pen hire, fuel, boat lift, hardstand and slipway with prices, capacity and booking windows. Members self-book from their boat page with your terms and conditions accepted up front, and you confirm or decline each booking from your dashboard.
Is there a discount for not-for-profit clubs?
Yes — 20% of club and marina subscriptions is donated back for not-for-profit organisations.
Sea rescue
Is Sea Rescue really free?
Yes. Community Dashboard, overdue monitoring, all reports and directory listing are free for volunteer marine rescue, Coast Guard, SES marine units and independent not-for-profit rescue services.
How does overdue monitoring work?
A trip becomes overdue at the stated ETA plus 30 minutes. From then, the owner and your duty admins are alerted every 10 minutes until the boat logs off or the owner updates their ETA. Your duty crew can also adjust a boat's ETA or log the vessel off on the owner's behalf — the owner is notified automatically.
What can our station see about a boat?
Vessel summary, owner and emergency contact, safety gear summary and live trip details while the boat is logged on with you. Documents and insurance stay private unless the owner explicitly consents.
How do we get listed?
Fill in the submission form on the
home page or email us. We verify every station with you before it appears in the directory owners see.
Suppliers
How do I get my parts business listed?
Email
hello@boatme.com.au with your business name, ABN and the part categories you stock. The Supplier plan is $99 a month, everything included.
When do owners and contractors see my business?
Your listing appears in part-category searches by boat owners and contractors using the platform — at the moment a job needs parts.
Data, privacy & billing
Who owns my data?
You do. BoatMe stores your documents and details securely, never sells your data, and only ever shows information to a party you have explicitly consented to share with. Read our
Privacy Policy for the full picture.
Is anything about my boat visible to the public?
No. Nothing about any boat is publicly visible on BoatMe. The public website is marketing only; every record sits behind authenticated access.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Paid plans are month-to-month or annual, and you can cancel anytime. Your data stays yours — exportable on request.
